Job description

  • Develop and implement financial strategies and policies aligned with Nakheel’s goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the executive management and the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and present financial statements and reports on financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvements and analyses to the Board and regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard Nakheel’s assets and financial integrity.
  • Manage treasury functions, including cash management, investments, and banking relationships.
  • Assess and mitigate financial risks, implementing strategies to safeguard Nakheel’s financial stability.
  • Monitor market trends and economic indicators to make informed financial decisions.
  • Communicate financial performance, strategies, and objectives effectively to the relevant bodies.
  • Streamline financial operations and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Evaluate and optimize financial systems and technologies to support Nakheel’s growth and financial stability.
  • Commit to complying with all internal/external rules and regulations that are related to the work framework.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and auditors, providing necessary financial information and documentation.
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members, ensuring their continuous growth and expertise in financial matters.
  • Collaborate with the executive team in making strategic decisions by providing financial analysis, modeling, and scenario planning.
  • Assess the financial implications of business initiatives and provide recommendations to support informed decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant financial institutions.
  • Negotiate financial agreements, contracts, and partnerships to optimize the organization's financial interests.
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in all financial activities and interactions.
  • Represent Nakheel professionally in financial matters, demonstrating a commitment to transparency and accountability.
  • Commit to implement all the tasks related to the framework of governance.
  • Develop and implement a financial structure framework to secure appropriate level of funding and liquidity to meet business needs.
  • Utilize various trade finance tools to fund trading activities in partnership with local and international financial institutions. 
  • Carry out any other activities as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education Level – Minimum - bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or equivalent.
  • Professional qualifications in charter accountancy such us ACCA, CA, CPA or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience including a minimum of 8 years at a leadership level in the same field.
  • Experience in the Food Industry is advantageous.

Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, accounting, reporting, and cost management.
  • Ability to drive business strategy, manage risks, and oversee mergers or acquisitions.
  • Strong ability to lead the finance team, making decisions, and managing change.
  • Proficiency with financial software and automation tools.
  • Maintaining transparency, strong ethics, and corporate governance.
