Job description
Job Purpose: The Director – Investment is responsible for leading the origination and execution of investment transactions at Oman Food Capital, driving strategic capital deployment initiatives that support the company’s long-term value creation agenda. The role focuses on opportunity sourcing, commercial due diligence, deal structuring, and investment approvals, ensuring all activities align with the strategic investment mandate. The Director will ensure adherence to all applicable investment policies, governance frameworks, and process guidelines, including those related to risk-adjusted return assessments, stage-gate reviews, and investment performance reporting throughout the investment lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities:
Investment Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive investment strategy aligned with Oman Food Capital’s financial and sectoral goals.
- Identify and appraise new investment opportunities through feasibility analysis and financial modeling, focusing on pre-investment phases.
- Lead transaction execution, including due diligence, valuation, and structuring, in compliance with defined investment frameworks.
- Develop investment screening and approval criteria in line with policy guidelines, ensuring readiness for internal and external approvals.
- Ensure stage-gate readiness by coordinating required documentation, approvals, and validation checkpoints prior to investment decision-making, and ensure alignment with applicable investment policies, governance frameworks, and compliance protocols.
- Ensure a clear handover of post-approval investments to the Asset Management function for ongoing monitoring and value realization.
- Shape sectoral investment theses and contribute to thematic capital deployment roadmaps aligned with macroeconomic and strategic trends.
- Participate in portfolio construction discussions to ensure a well-balanced, diversified investment profile that aligns with long-term return objective
Strategic Capital Partnerships
- Structure and lead co-investment opportunities that include both technical and equity partners, in line with the company’s minority ownership model.
- Identify and engage sector-specific partners who bring operational expertise and technology advantage to ensure successful execution and risk mitigation.
- Build and manage strategic alliances with institutional investors to support capital mobilization and syndicated investments.
- Facilitate alignment of investment terms to preserve minority rights while enabling value creation through active partnership models.
- Develop and recommend optimal capital structures for proposed investments, balancing internal equity, external partner contributions, and debt financing in line with portfolio risk appetite and return expectations.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Cultivate strong relationships with financial institutions, advisors, external consultants, and strategic co-investors.
- Represent the investment function in internal and external forums, including Investment Committees, Board-level discussions, and capital markets engagements.
- Maintain visibility in the investment ecosystem to support deal flow development, market positioning, and industry intelligence gathering.
- Collaborate with CEOs and Finance Heads of subsidiaries to ensure alignment of investment initiatives and execution readiness.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing investment team with deep analytical and commercial expertise across sectors and deal types.
- Foster a results-driven, collaborative culture that links individual development with investment performance outcomes.
- Partner with HR to shape investment talent strategies, including succession planning and skills development.
- Contribute to the continuous strengthening of the organization’s investment capabilities by supporting knowledge-sharing, peer learning, and integration of best practices across teams.
Other Duties
- Undertake any additional responsibilities or strategic assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- MBA or a professional qualification (CFA, CAIA, CPA) is preferred.
Experience:
- Over 12 years of experience in investment management, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, and private equity.
- Deep expertise in investment strategy, financial modeling, and end-to-end deal execution.
- Demonstrated success in structuring, negotiating, and executing complex investment and divestment transactions.
