Job description

Job Purpose: The Investment Associate supports the full lifecycle of investment activities, from origination to exit, with a focus on feasibility analysis, financial modeling, due diligence coordination, and execution support. The role plays a key part in evaluating opportunities across core and satellite investment streams, aligned with Oman Food Capital’s strategic goals and minority partnership model. The Associate contributes to preparation of investment materials at each stage-gate of the review process and ensures compliance with investment frameworks and valuation protocols. The Associate also plays a supporting role in divestment planning, performance tracking, and periodic knowledge-sharing initiatives, while collaborating with Asset Management on post-deal value tracking and portfolio engagement where applicable.

Key Accountabilities: 

Investment Evaluation & Transaction Support
• Prepare business cases, financial models, and investment memos for pipeline and live opportunities
• Conduct valuation and scenario analysis using industry-standard methodologies
• Assist with commercial, financial, and legal due diligence coordination
• Participate in the documentation and execution process under guidance of senior team members
• Support the Investment Manager in preparing materials for Investment Committees and Board review

Market & Opportunity Analysis

  • Translate high-level strategic themes and macroeconomic direction into actionable opportunity assessments.
  • Explore specific commercial opportunities within the food and agribusiness value chain, with a focus on investment readiness and feasibility potential.
  • Conduct sector and competitor benchmarking to support prioritization of viable investment prospects.
  • Monitor regional and international investment benchmarks to support deal screening

Stage-Gate Preparation & Feasibility Analysis
 

  • Prepare key deliverables and investment summaries for each gated decision checkpoint
  • Contribute to pre-feasibility and feasibility study reviews
  • Ensure models and assumptions meet risk-adjusted return requirements

Strategic Partnerships & Co-Investment Support

  •  Support analysis of partner alignment and shareholder structures in co-investment settings
  •  Maintain profiles of technical and equity partners relevant to active and future deals
  •  Assist in drafting term sheets, investment overviews, and partnership summaries

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with financial advisors, consultants, legal counsel, government bodies, and external vendors to collect and validate investment-related inputs.
  • Support internal communication with executive leadership, business units, and finance teams to enable smooth investment reviews.
  • Assist in the development of investment presentations, Board reports, and review materials.

Performance Monitoring & Exit Support

  • Track post-investment performance of active investments and identify early signs of underperformance.
  • Support in exit preparation activities, including market analysis, buyer identification, and preliminary valuation.
  • Contribute to drafting divestment cases and exit recommendation reports.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date investment logs, performance tracking reports, and data rooms
  • Contribute to internal documentation of investment learnings, models, and benchmarking tools
  • Support compliance with reporting and audit requests related to transactions

Other Duties

  • Undertake any additional responsibilities or strategic assignments as directed by management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
  • MBA, CFA (Level I/II), or equivalent qualification (preferred)

Experience:

  • 3 + Years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or transaction advisory
  • Proven exposure to investment transaction cycles: sourcing, evaluation, execution, and post-deal support
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation, and M&A processes
